A stunning and very rare Ferrari item from the collection of Pierre Bardinon.

Pierre Bardinon, a collector who was admired by Enzo Ferrari himself. In recent years, Ferraris have regularly sold for record-breaking prices at auction and currently occupy nine places in the top 10 most expensive cars. Let us remember the man who fell blindly in love with these great cars decades ago and was the first to start collecting them.

During his life, the Frenchman designed most of the most famous and valuable cars of this brand and built up an impressive Ferrari collection, which was considered one of the largest and most important in the world.

He turned the 14th century family castle and the adjacent fields at Mas du Clos, near Aubusson in France, into his own playground by setting up a car museum.

However, his philosophy was that such beauties cannot simply be parked – they must be used for their intended purpose; for this reason, in 1963, he opened an impressive private two-mile circuit next to his castle. The layout was designed to allow a racing line without frequent hard braking, so that the old drum brakes did not suffer too much. The owner was not the only one to drive laps on the Mas du Clos circuit – he also made it available to various car clubs and racing teams. In addition, he had a group of in-house mechanics who took care of his collection. That's how much he loved his cars and he took care of them.

Enzo Ferrari was once asked if he wanted to set up a Ferrari museum. He replied that such a museum already existed – Pierre Bardinon did it in France. This was the greatest compliment the remarkable collector could receive.

This item, with a diameter of 6cm, is very rarely offered for sale and can now leave the collection for another true Ferrari enthusiast!
